For our client Dredge operators from New Orleans, we managed the repair of the trailing suction hopper dredger Stuyvesant we prepared, budgeted and supervised the repairs in Bremerhaven (Germany). After the repair the financial handling with yard and subcontractors completed, a final report including recommendations prepared for the upcoming repair period.
Below is a brief overview of the work carried out.
- Renewal survey ABS and USCG
- 267 tonnes of steel replaced such as all the frames in the hopper, shell plating, frames, deck plating and bulkhead plating.
- Cleaning of HFO tanks for steel repairs.
- Coating of the shell plating
- 18,000 hours overhaul of both main engines Stork TM 410 incl. turbo blowers
- renewal of all 230 tubes in the exhaust gas boiler
- Both rudders and rudderstocks repaired at PS rudder both bronze bearing bushes renewed
- PS propeller shaft pulled and end renewed buses
- 40 Pcs bottom door cylinders overhauled.
- ALL 40 bottom doors repaired incl. bottom door seals.
- Hopper loading line renewed including turtle boxes.
- Renewal of high and low pressure jet pipes.
- Both suction pipes converted to short pipe incl. repositioning of the gantries.
